Study for a city map of Gorinchem, anonymous (1524−1578)
A few months ago the Foundation for Castle Studies Netherlands (SKN) established. The foundation aims to promote and publish research into castles, country estates, estates and related historical greenery.
The first edition will be published in March and will include an extensive publication by Taco Hermans and Edwin Orsel about the renovation of the Blauwe Toren (Blue Tower) in Gorinchem in 1524 – 1530 under architect Rombout (II) Keldermans.
Taco Hermans is a senior researcher and castle expert at the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands (RCE). Edwin Orsel is a building historian employed by the municipality of Delft.
