Residential complex Het Quadrant built on the former Den Breejen garage site
In June 2004, by Hollandia Archaeologists a drilling survey carried out on the “Den Breejen” site on the W. de Vries Robbéweg.
riverbank
On the south-eastern side of the site, the presence of a riverbank of the Linge has been established. The location on the bank of the Linge, in combination with the slightly higher position than the surroundings, made these types of places attractive for habitation in the past. At the site Kerkeind in Arkel, situated on the same riverbank, traces from the Roman period have been found. The presence of a shard of Andenne pottery in a boring could indicate the use of the riverbank in the Middle Ages.
