In the first week of January 2017, the municipal archaeological depot was moved from its location in Avelingen to Arkelsedijk, the former home of the GGD and the ambulance service.
The preparation for this move took a long time. For example, it was not easy to find a replacement space that met all the wishes and (legal) requirements. In addition, there was a preference for a location in or a short distance from the Gorcum city center.
In advance, the depot volunteers worked hard to prepare the collection for transport. At the same time, some structural adjustments were made in the 'new' accommodation.
The archaeological depot has been housed in the former ENECO building at Avelingen Oost 2a.
