"“Collected, preserved, managed” provides an overview of the (art)objects collected by the water boards in the Alblasserwaard and Vijfheerenlanden regions over the centuries. A systematic classification was lacking, so at the initiative of the water board, a foundation was established to publish a book about this collection. Under the leadership of Drs. S. van Harten, this project was realized despite obstacles. The book now offers a structured overview of the cultural heritage that the water boards have amassed, preserved, and managed for centuries. It includes chapters on buildings, mills, paintings, maps, hens cups, drinking spell books, messengers' boxes, and the impressive glass collection.
