Molenstraat 58 – 62

On the rear grounds of the buildings at Molenstraat 58 – 60, prior to the soil remediation, Hollandia Archaeologists an observation was made of the construction of the site where until the end of the 16^de century the castle the Blauwe Toren (Blue Tower) has stood. The profile study showed that the soil was disturbed after the demolition of the castle and the outbuildings to a depth of approximately -1 meter NAP.

Built with older building materials

At this depth, waste from the end of the 16th century has been found.^de century. At -1,15 meters was the top of the watercourse (S 19) which from the beginning of the work pit still had a length of 4,75 meters. The watercourse was once longer but was closed at the end of the 16^de century at this point. The width of the watercourse is 90 cm. The watercourse was single brick and vaulted.
